Watters wins Tucker’s slot as net shuffles the old guard
SHAMED Sean Hannity has been caught with his pants down after cruelly being passed over for Tucker Carlson’s old primetime slot — and sources say there are whispers the withered windbag might soon be gone from FOX News for good!
“You can’t overstate how much of a setback this is for Sean,” reveals an insider. “It’s akin to the network issuing a vote of no confidence in his ability to attract viewers and provide a tentpole for the whole primetime lineup. It comes mes as a major shock!
“Let’s just say he was already planning a triumphant move to 8 p.m. Now, he’s got egg all over his face!”
The winner in the latest FOX game of thrones is Jesse Watters — whose show Jesse Watters Primetime has crushed the competition in its 7 p.m. time slot since going on the air in 2022.
Watters, 45, will now slide into the pivotal 8 p.m. position left vacant when Carlson, 54, was unceremoniously canned in early May after the network shelled out $787.5 million to settle a defamation lawsuit brough brought by Dominion Voting Systems, which claimed the right-wing outlet and its stable of blowhards lied about the 2020 presidential election being rigged.
Since Carlson’s exit, a rotating slate of hosts has occupied his abandoned time slot, and the network’s primetime viewership tumbled by almost 40 percent. But recent ratings indicate FOX survived and is No. 1 in cable again.
Meanwhile, motormouth Laura Ingraham will move into Jesse’s old time slot and Greg Gutfeld will slide from 11 p.m. to 10 p.m. in what sources describe as a major network shakeup that leaves humiliated Hannity, 61, as the last remaining member of the old primetime lineup.
“If you’re Sean, you have to be very worried right now,” squeals a network insider. “He’s a puffy-faced grayhaired dinosaur surrounded by fresh new faces pulled from across the network. And he has a ton of Trump baggage related to the Dominion Voting Systems lawsuit!”
Sources say Sean, like Tucker, also amplified and repeated former President Donald Trump’s now debunked assertion the 2020 election was stolen — despite once saying under oath he “did not believe it for one second.”
While a FOX News rep insists talk Hannity is on the hot seat is inaccurate, the source dishes, “Sean is damaged goods and the network knows it. His credibility and authority on conservative issues will never be the same.
“And that’s probably why he was passed over in favor of Jesse!”
