SCIENTOLOGY SHAMED!
Newly unsealed court papers bare child sex charges & cover-up claims
CUNNING big shots in the Church of Scientology cruelly bullied a minor into marrying her adult abuser in the ’90s and covered up the twisted sicko’s repeated rapes by forbidding the traumatized girl from going to police, according to an explosive civil suit. Now, sources confide the controversial religion’s A-list members like actors Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Juliette Lewis, Elisabeth Moss, Jenna Elfman and TV journalist Greta Van Susteren are diving for cover as they fear being tarnished by their association with the church amid the disturbing child sex scandal!
Now in her 40s, the accuser — only identified in newly unsealed court documents as Jane Doe — alleges highranking church recruiter Gavin Potter first preyed on her when she was 16!
But the gal says when she reported the vile abuse to church elders, she was given the choice of five years’ hard labor in a Scientology gulag or eloping with the official in Las Vegas while still a teenager!
A Hollywood insider says a judge’s decision to unseal the explosive documents immediately after the double rape conviction of the religion’s former golden boy Danny Masterson is the church’s “worst nightmare!”
The insider adds, “There are fears it could really spell the end of Scientology as we know it! If you’re Travolta, Cruise or another star, you have to be very concerned the scandal will impact reputations and box office ticket sales.
“So far, Tom and John managed to escape relatively unscathed — but at some point, their association could bite them as well as s other celebrity Scientologists.” cientologists.”
The recently revealed vealed legal complaint mplaint — wh which ch was filed against Potter, Scientology Scientology leader David Miscavige and three other church-related d entities — alleges the organization ganization created a culture ure where sexual abuse was enabled by policies dictated ed by late founder L. Ron Hubbard.
Critics say they’re not surprised by charges the church failed to alert authorities about the teen’s accusations — and tried to cover up Potter’s alleged misconduct — because Hubbard’s 1968 book Introduction to Scientology Ethics declared reporting fellow members to civil authorities is a “high crime!”
Former follower Mike Rinder explains, “Though Scientology claims it has no policy against reporting crimes, these words from Hubbard make clear it is exactly what they demand from their members.” ”
Doe’s lawsuit also maintains minors are especially susceptible to sex abuse in Scientology, which views them as “adults in the bodies of children,” as Hubbard taught each person is an immortal being who has lived many lifetimes!
The woman, who was born into Scientology, says at 14 she joined the religion’s military-style workforce Sea Org, where members are forced to sign billion-year
contracts — but fled in 1997 at age 23 with a daughter Potter fathered through “coerced” sex.
She also happens to be one of four gals who accused Masterson of rape!
The former That ’70s Show star faces up to 30 years behind bars following his
May 31 conviction in L.A. for raping two ex-Scientologists more than two decades ago. Masterson plans to appeal and insists he’s innocent of all accusations.
The unsealed suit is Doe’s second civil action against the church. She’s also suing the organization and Masterson for damages while claiming Scientology thugs tried to silence her — and other women — after they told church officials the actor had sexually assaulted them. She charges the church targeted her via a brutal campaign of harassment and intimidation that included hundreds of crank phone calls, “systematic” stalking, ing, threats, credit card d fraud, vandalism, surveillance, hacking and other abuse! In a statement, the church insists the harassment accusations leveled by Doe in the he Masterson case are e
“false” and adds, “Th “There is not a scintilla of evidence supporting the scandalous allegations.”
A spokesperson for the church also says Scientology “explicitly demands” all members obey the law — and bashed the socalled forced marriage suit as untrue and “a con job orchestrated by the same small group of anti-Scientologists bent on harassing the church!”
The rep further claims, “The attorney who filed it, Graham Berry, has been declared a vexatious litigant who was suspended from the bar in connection with frivolous litigation against the Church of Scientology in the past. As with previous attempted s shakedowns, th the church will pre prevail.” But insiders whi whisper there’s t only so much negative publicity Scientology can endure before the U.S. government reexamines its tax-exempt status and prized celebrity members run from its ranks! “Scientology is amidst a crisis unlike anything it’s experienced in its history,” notes an observer. “There are too many revelations, too much horror, too much negativity. There’s a very strong chance they could lose their tax exemption — and then they’ll be lucky to survive.”
