CHRISTIAN BAILS ON MOVIES – TO HELP KIDS!
Builds mega-complex to protect foster sibs
FOLLOWING an exhausting string of high-paying film roles, Christian Bale is ramping up efforts to fulfill an age-old dream — helping kids in need!
The 50-year-old star spent the pandemic churning out three movies back-to-back Amsterdam, Thor Love and Thunder, and The Pale Blue Eye — and sources say he’s stepping back for a moment to catch his breath and do good!
“Christian has truly earned this extended period away from work and he never really discourages the chatter around him retiring early or quitting acting altogether. The guy has nothing left to prove in that department,” trumpets a tipster.
“He’s actually trying to change the world during this hiatus by following through on his plans to finance and build a foster children’s home!”
Sources say the Together California project — to be located on land that Bale purchased in Palmdale, a desert community outside L.A. — has been in the works for years, ever since the birth of daughter Emmeline, now 18, gave the Batman Begins star the inspiration.
“Christian underwent a long process to find the best foster children’s charities in the country and learn from them,” snitches a source.
“He’s put a lot of his own money into this, with plans for more fundraising between now and when he opens the facility by the end of the year.” The complex is slated to include 12 foster homes, two studio apartments to help transition foster children to independence, and a 7,000-square-foot community center.
“He’s also using this time to visit the site regularly and even help out with manual labor!” dishes an insider.
“His hard work and fingerprints are all over this project, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. He had siblings in foster care when he was a child, so this is a project that has been on his mind for pretty much his whole life!”
