AND THE OSCAR FOR MOST HATED IN H’WOOD GOES TO JIMMY KIMMEL!
Tone-deaf attacks on beloved figures make him a pariah
LATE-NIGHT TV yakker Jimmy Kimmel has cemented his status as the most hated man in Hollywood with his tacky Oscar ceremony attacks on beloved actor Robert Downey Jr. and former President Donald Trump, industry sources snitch.
The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host’s career was already on thin ice, tipsters dish, due to his long history of lobbing cheap shots and unfunny insults — including jabs at NFL great Aaron Rodgers, actor Matt Damon and FOX News fave Sean Hannity! However, entertainment moles say the smarmy comic has doomed himself after using his gig as Academy Awards emcee to skewer Downey for his past drug struggles — on the same night the comeback kid won the Best Supporting
Actor trophy for his critically acclaimed performance in Oppenheimer.
“Jimmy likes to think he’s the toast of Tinseltown. But his popularity has plunged in recent years, and after his Oscar debacle he really will be toast in this town,” squeals an insider.
“The fact that he tried to take down Downey, who’s a Hollywood favorite, didn’t go down well with anyone.” Spywitnesses say wisecracking Kimmel, 56, clearly hoped to kick sand in Downey’s face within minutes of strutting onto the stage at the Dolby Theatre by snarking about the atomic bomb movie being “one of the highest points in his career.”
When Downey pointed to his face, Kimmel asked, “Was that too on the nose or a drug motion you made?”
But the windbag didn’t stop there and blustered at Downey, “Is that an acceptance speech in your pocket — or do you just have a very rectangular penis?” Outraged fans flooded social media with criticism, including one who called the rude remarks, “Not cool!” Downey served two stints in the slammer after years of substance abuse that nearly ended his acting prospects. But the plucky performer got sober in 2003 — and proved his mettle as the hero of Marvel’s blockbuster Iron Man franchise.
“A lot of people feel Jimmy owes Robert an apology,” spills the insider.
Kimmel has also come under fire from Trump supporters for reading aloud the former commander in chief’s Truth Social post criticizing his
performance as Oscars host during the awards broadcast and quipping, “Isn’t it past your jail time?”
The very next day former NBC newsgal Megyn Kelly slammed anyone who “laughed and curried favor” with Kimmel, pointing out his history of wearing blackface!
During his days on The Man Show, Kimmel donned dark makeup in a skit skewering Black basketball Hall of Famer Karl Malone.
Kelly was booted from the Peacock Network herself in 2018 over comments she made defending past use of the racially offensive practice.
“It appears the real sin with blackface is talking about how standards on it have changed — not actually wearing it,” Megyn snipes.
Kimmel has long ruffled the feathers of the rich and famous. He’s engaged in a virulent feud with Damon, who calls him “a vile human.” Both play the beef for laughs, but sources insist the guys are actually dead serious.
In 2018, FOX firebrand Hannity demanded the jokester apologize for mocking the accent of Slovenian-born first lady Melania Trump — causing the motormouth to call him a “lunatic!”
Last year, Kimmel labeled New York Jets quarterback Rodgers a “tin foil hatter” for suggesting the government’s UFO revelations were a ploy to distract from the release of late sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein’s client list!
Yet sources note Kimmel can dish out ridicule but can’t take it when the joke’s on him!
The chatfest gabber exploded in a rage in March 2023 after Rodgers quipped about Kimmel being on Epstein’s list — and called the jovial jock an “a**hole!” “Jimmy got a big head from hosting his late-night show and getting invited to celeb parties year after year,” the insider confides. “But few people even want to associate with him anymore. They’ve found him out for what he really is — a jealous, vindictive guy. His goose is cooked!”
