Co­lette Lemmon is a mu­seum pro­fes­sional based in up­state New York. Cur­rently she holds a po­si­tion as the Cu­ra­tor of Ex­hi­bi­tions at the Iro­quois In­dian Mu­seum. In­de­pen­dent projects have in­cluded writ­ing and con­sult­ing for the New York State Mu­seum, Mu­seum of Con­tem­po­rary Na­tive Arts; Seneca-iro­quois Na­tional Mu­seum; Ot­tawa Art Gallery; and other fa­cil­i­ties. Orig­i­nally in the field of ar­chae­ol­ogy, a chance en­counter with an Oneida carver launched her in a new di­rec­tion. She has worked with con­tem­po­rary Hau­denosaunee art and artists for more than two decades.
