The Southwestern Association for Indian Arts has announced Ira Wilson as its new executive director. Originally from Teec Nos Pos, Arizona, and raised in a traditional Navajo home, he has connections with the traditional and contemporary Native art world, which will serve as an asset as he leads SWAIA into its 100th year in 2021. Wilson will take over for Dallin Maybee, who served in the role for nearly four years. The organization’s next major event is Santa Fe Indian Market on August 18 and 19.
