Ac­cord­ing to a study in the Jour­nal of Psy­chi­atric Prac­tice, peo­ple with bipo­lar disor­der who do yoga say they ex­pe­ri­ence sig­nif­i­cant men­tal health ben­e­fits from the prac­tice. Those in­volved with the study re­ported re­duced anx­i­ety, in­creased mind­ful­ness, and pos­i­tive phys­i­cal ef­fects such as weight loss, in­creased en­ergy, and im­proved sleep. In this study, hatha yoga was deemed the most pow­er­ful prac­tice for those with bipo­lar disor­der.
