Recent studies suggest seasonal affective disorder (SAD) isn’t just for humans anymore. Pet owners recognize symptoms of SAD in their fuzzy friends as the days get shorter and grayer. Both human and animal symptoms include lethargy, depression, social withdrawal, fatigue, and craving comfort foods. Instead of hunkering down with Mr. Mittens and waiting for the sunshine of spring, invest in some “daylight” or “full spectrum” lightbulbs to mimic incoming sunlight, get outside for some quality snow exercise, and make sure to give Fido extra snuggles.
