Final Thoughts
Wait! Before you go, we want to leave you with inspiration and ideas from good friends of the Naturally family. First up: TV chef Alex Guarnaschelli (@guarnaschelli) shares some tasty tidbits.
How I start my morning:
My day begins the way my daughter’s does: If she’s headed to school then it’s all hands on deck until she goes out the door. Then, coffee. I can’t think until coffee is sitting in front of me. Next comes the to-do list and a mental run through of the day.
The best gift I ever received:
I know it’s corny but it’s a cliché for a reason:
“my daughter.”
What I’m loving at the moment:
I love the change of season into fall. I love looking at kabocha squash like I’ve never seen it before. I’m excited and hoping to travel to France and Tokyo next year.
My must-have kitchen tool:
I have a small (cheap) serrated paring knife that is my lifeblood. I am actually designing one that’s very similar so I can share my thoughts about the ideal kitchen knife with the world… stay tuned!
Who I would love to meet:
I want to meet Jon Favreau and tell him how much I love his work. I especially love the pasta scene from the movie Chef.
Five things I always buy at the grocery store:
I collect Dijon mustard like it’s going out of style, so I always buy a jar. I always buy a bottle of red wine vinegar. I always buy a loaf of fluffy white bread that takes me back to childhood. I always buy eggs because I bake a cake or two and end up running out. I always buy scallions because you never know when you’re going to need them on the fly.
What I’m working on right now:
I’m working on a cookbook with my daughter and having so much fun trying to translate her food language onto the page. She is the boss!
I’d buy a one-way ticket to:
The Galapagos Islands.
What I would make for Oprah:
A perfect grilled cheese sandwich with butter and bread and a melted cheese center to die for.
