Gail Mar­cia Bern­stein Mayer, age 72, of Or­ange, CT, beloved wife of 30 years to Al Mayer, passed away peace­fully at home sur­rounded by her lov­ing fam­ily on Jan­uary 12, 2019 af­ter a long and coura­geous bat­tle with ovar­ian can­cer. She was born in Washington D.C. to Nathan and Mary Bern­stein on April 21, 1946. She at­tended Amer­i­can In­ter­na­tional Col­lege and ob­tained a Masters De­gree in So­cial Work from Ford­ham Uni­ver­sity.

Gail and Al founded Elder­Care Ser­vices in 2003 and have been ser­vant lead­ers by as­sist­ing peo­ple. It was her mis­sion and pur­pose in life to help peo­ple. She was very phil­an­thropic and en­joyed giv­ing to or­ga­ni­za­tions that con­trib­uted to the bet­ter­ment of hu­man­ity. Gail is pre­ceded in death by her par­ents, Nathan and Mary Bern­stein and her nephew, Todd Lu­bin. Gail is sur­vived by her lov­ing hus­band Al, daugh­ter Stacey Lee (Frank), son Matt Mar­gulies, sis­ter Linda Lu­bin (Char­lie), her grand­sons and lights of her life Jack­son, Car­son and Hud­son Lee, niece Jennifer Lu­bin, and great niece Ryleigh Lu­bin.

Funeral Ser­vices will be held at 11:00 o’clock on Tues­day morn­ing, Jan­uary 15, at Con­gre­ga­tion Or Shalom, 205 Old Grassy Hill Rd, Or­ange,with In­ter­ment ser­vices to fol­low at Or­ange Cen­ter Ceme­tery. Shiva will be ob­served at the Mayer home from 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Tues­day, Jan­uary 15th andWed­nes­day, Jan­uary 16th. All those who loved her are wel­come. In lieu of flow­ers, do­na­tions can be made to Closer to Free, a fund of Yale Can­cer Cen­ter and Smilow Can­cer Hospi­tal.The Robert E.
