Robert R. Smith Jr. 50, of East Haven passed away on August 17, 2018 at CT Hospice surrounded by his family. He was born on May 27, 1968 in New Haven to the Robert Smith Sr. and Rosemary (Davis) Smith. Robert is survived by his parents, loving wife of 11 years, Kelly (Gould) Smith and three sons Anthony Gargano of East Haven, Robert Massimino of East Haven and Ryan Massimino of East Haven along with a sister, Carolyn Bavedas (Frank) of Moodus. Robert is also survived by his nieces/nephews, Connor Bavedas, Nora Bavedas, Gianna Rapuano, David Rapuano, Natalia Rapuano and Olivia Rapuano, paternal grandfather, Arthur Cunha of New Haven, mother-in-law, Janet Buccini of East Haven and sister-in-law, Gina Rapuano (David) of Wallingford. Robert was a proud husband who loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, spending weekends on his boat, playing pool at the Crown East Billiards in East Haven and was a member of the American Pool Association.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home) 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 20 at 11 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Taylor Ave., East Haven with Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. In lieu of flowers, the family is inviting all to attend a Motorcycle Ride/Car Show and Pool Tournament to benefit Robert Smith on August 26, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Crown East Billiards, 655 Main Street, East Haven CT 06512.
