1 Knights from Divine Mercy Council 14664, K of C, in Hamden, prepared a dinner for the homeless Aug. 20 at Columbus House in New Haven. Knights Al Aloi and Leotis Tyson manned the grill, while other Knights and parishioners of Divine Mercy Parish prepared the other foods and desserts.
1 Hamden Lions Secretary Sally Forte and Membership Chairwoman Ann Inzero recently delivered donated children’s pajamas and books to Sharon Jones, director of distribution of the pajamas at the Keefe Center. To contribute to the pajama project, contact Lion Richard Inzero at 203-6230166.
1 Acton Public Library, Old Saybrook, in August, is displaying quilts made by town resident Michele Holt (www.myquiltingbeehive.com). The library is open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays.
1 Megan Vanacore, of Guilford, was recognized by the College of Saint Rose on March 24 at the annual Honors Convocation. Vanacore received the Outstanding Senior in Music Education Award.
