Allen R. Schoenster, age 79, of Milford passed away on Oc­to­ber 2, 2018 in Bran­ford, CT. He was born in Ja­maica, Queens, NY on Fe­bru­ary 13, 1939 to the late Henry and Anne Schoenster. Owner of Collins Flower Shoppe with his wife, he was a de­voted hus­band, fa­ther, grand­fa­ther, and great-grand­fa­ther and is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife of 42 years Made­line (Sam) Rink Schoenster, his ded­i­cated chil­dren Michael Schoenster and his wife Ann, daugh­ter Danette Con­taras and her hus­band Daniel, all of Milford, his brother Robert Schoenster and his wife Doy, grand­chil­dren Alyson, Michael Jr., Christo­pher, and D.J, five great-grand­chil­dren, sis­ter-in-law Marge Schoenster many nieces and neph­ews and long­time friends, es­pe­cially his pal Mary Da­her. Allen will be re­mem­bered for his love of fish­ing, hunt­ing and be­ing a “Life Mem­ber” of the Milford Elks. Be­sides his par­ents, he is pre­de­ceased by his brother John Schoenster and dear friends Ted Hoff­man and Roger McNeil. Per Allen’s wishes Michael and Danette will be host­ing “Dad’s Happy Hour” in his honor on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 12, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Milford Elks’ Hall, 124 New Haven Ave., Milford.
