Westover School is an independent boarding and day high school in Middlebury that challenges smart, motivated girls to become confident, connected women.
A wide range of academic and co-curricular opportunities are offered that provoke thought, spur discussion, and help build skills and expertise. Innovative programs such as our Women in Science and Engineering program, Invest in Girls business program, and our Independent Senior Projects allow students to pursue specific interests while preparing for college (and beyond).
We connect with each student in one-onone academic advising, and provide ample conference time with faculty, dorm parents, and coaches.
The confidence that we foster in each girl during her time at Westover allows our students to aspire toward the college, careers, and opportunities of their choice with perspective, conviction, and purpose.
We offer unique opportunities for our students to discover their individual passions. Our enduring commitment to social justice and community engagement comes to life through the many activities sponsored by the Rasin Center for Global Justice. This Center encompasses programming in diversity, community service, and environmental sustainability.
Our students engage in meaningful conversations, contribute to the greater community through service work, and gain a greater understanding of their impact on our environment. Our visual and performing arts programs offer students the opportunity to study and share their work on the stage and through painting, photography, and ceramics. Our athletic program offers opportunities for top-level athletes and novices alike, as we know that empowering girls through team sports not only builds confidence but is also a ton of fun!
Perhaps most important, Westover really is family, a place where you know everyone’s name and hometown. It’s a place where girls are comfortable taking risks, where they don’t worry about looking silly, and where they feel completely free to be themselves…and to let others do the same.
We offer unique opportunities for our students to discover their individual passions.
