Preparing students for a life of purpose

New Haven Register (Sunday) (New Haven, CT) - - EDUCATION OUTLOOK -

Here at GFA, our mission drives everything we do.

GFA engages students as partners in an innovative, inclusive, and globally minded community to prepare them for a life of purpose.

Students learn to take ownership of their education and to partner with teachers and fellow students in learning to think critically, collaborate, and communicate.

GFA’s education is innovative as well as traditional. It takes place in the classroom, in the ecosystems outside our doors, and digitally across the globe.

Students may reach out to a professor in Jakarta in the morning, and in the afternoon take water samples in the marsh. A fourth grader may design garden markers in the

Maker’s Lab, and later harvest vegetables from the organic garden for use in the school cafeteria.

We are proud that “Quisque pro Omnibus — Each for All” is our school motto. GFA is a place where you can go as far as you want, while supporting your classmates along the way. You develop rapport with your teachers because they are there for you in and out of the classroom.

You will “dare to be different, dare to be yourself” as they say in the Middle School, but in the end, the sense of community is what you may remember most about the school.

From PreK through 12th grade, a sense of responsibility and empathy threads through our community. When alumni look back on their time at GFA, they remember the close relationships with their teachers, the support of their classmates, and the challenges of the classroom.

We know that in these times, young people are grappling with big questions. Our mission is to help students become the best they can be by instilling our core values of passion, integrity, empathy, curiosity and excellence.

We invite you to learn more about our community. For more information, or to schedule a visit, please go to www. gfacademy.org/admission.
