An­thony John Baia, 68 of Ray­mond, NH, for­merly of New Haven and Walling­ford, CT, died sud­denly at his home on Sun­day, Jan­uary 6, 2019. An­thony was born in New Haven on March 7, 1950, a son of the late Al­bert and Carmella Martino Baia. He grew up in New Haven be­fore mov­ing to Walling­ford where he resided for twenty years be­fore mov­ing to Ray­mond in 1998. An­thony was a re­tired in­ves­ti­ga­tor for Metro North and pre­vi­ously Con­rail for many years. He was a proud Viet­nam Army Vet­eran. He is sur­vived by a daugh­ter, Lor­rinda Estabrook of Ray­mond, NH, a son, John An­thony Baia and his wife Airi of Sumter, SC, three brothers, Ron­ald Baia of West Haven, Pasquale (Claire) Baia of Ham­den and Leon (Donna) Baia, and five grand­chil­dren, Christo­pher, Hana, Richard and Rina Baia, and Ada Mae Estabrook. He was pre­de­ceased by his son Christo­pher Michael Baia, a sis­ter Al­berta San­ta­gata, and a brother, Richard Baia. A grave­side ser­vice with mil­i­tary hon­ors will take place on Tues­day, Jan­uary 15th at 1:00 p.m. in St. Lawrence Ceme­tery, West Haven, CT. The Wash­ing­ton Me­mo­rial Fu­neral Home, 4 Wash­ing­ton Ave., North Haven has been en­trusted with ar­range­ments.
