Fran­cis (Frank) Paul Ah­ern, age 69, of North­ford, CT, beloved hus­band of 50 years to Vic­to­ria (Vicky) Bron­son Ah­ern, passed away peace­fully at his home sur­rounded by his lov­ing fam­ily on Jan­uary 10, 2019 af­ter a coura­geous bat­tle with pan­cre­atic can­cer. He was born in New Haven, CT on Novem­ber 16, 1949 and was the son of Pasqualina (Patsy) Si­mone Ah­ern and the late Wil­liam J. (Spike) Ah­ern. Frank was a Master Bar­ber and the proud owner of High & Crown Bar­ber Shop in New Haven, CT and Frank’s Bar­ber­shop of West­erly in West­erly, RI. He took great pride in mak­ing his cus­tomers look and feel great. He was a mem­ber of Lo­cal 455 Con­struc­tion and Gen­eral La­bor­ers Union and Lo­cal 443 Team­ster’s Union (Amer­i­can Linen Com­pany) of New Haven. In ad­di­tion, he worked for the Con­necti­cut Lot­tery Cor­po­ra­tion and the De­part­ment of the Mil­i­tary (Camp Rell). Frank was a 4th de­gree mem­ber of the K of C (Com­modore John Barry Assem­bly 097) and en­joyed be­ing a mem­ber of The West­erly Band play­ing his tenor sax­o­phone. He loved the West­erly beaches and his clas­sic 1955 Chevro­let Bel-Air. He was a spe­cial Pop-Pop to his grand­chil­dren and loved spend­ing time with his fam­ily. Frank is sur­vived by his lov­ing chil­dren Fran­cis Paul Ah­ern, Jr. (Pa­tri­cia Lu­cian Ah­ern) and Maria Ah­ern Bron­son (Michael Manna) and grand­chil­dren Kevin and Kyle Co­hen, An­gelina and An­thony DeBenedet, and Rocco and Frank Ah­ern III. His sis­ters Tr­isha and Cather­ine Ah­ern, brother Wil­liam J. Ah­ern, Jr. (Mary At­wa­ter Ah­ern); aunts Justina Si­mone Savenelli, Josephine Curello, and Rose Marie Si­mone along with many nieces, neph­ews, and cousins.The fam­ily would like to ex­press their sin­cere grat­i­tude for the spe­cial care and sup­port pro­vided by the staff at Smilow Can­cer Cen­ters of New Haven and North Haven as well as Con­necti­cut Hospice. Friends and fam­ily are in­vited to visit the Keenan Fu­neral Home, 330 Notch Hill Road, North Bran­ford, CT, on Sun­day, Jan­uary 13, 2019.
