James “Jim” Pinski, of Bran­ford, died Mon­day, Jan­uary 7, 2019 at Yale-New Haven Hos­pi­tal af­ter a brief ill­ness. Jim was born June 9, 1958 in New Haven, son of the late Joseph and Eleanor Pinski. He is sur­vived by many friends. Jim was a life­long Bran­ford res­i­dent and long­time mem­ber of the Bran­ford Bas­ket­ball com­mu­nity. He was a grad­u­ate of St. Mary’s and Bran­ford High School. The Pin, as he was known to many, held a va­ri­ety of jobs within the con­struc­tion in­dus­try. Jim had re­cently re­tired from a long and var­ied ca­reer of which he en­joyed re­lay­ing many of his col­or­ful sto­ries to oth­ers. He en­joyed help­ing his many friends and would drop every­thing to help a friend in an emer­gency. Jim “the Pin” will be greatly missed by the Bran­ford Com­mu­nity.

Friends are in­vited to a memo­rial vis­i­ta­tion, Fri­day, Jan­uary 25, 2019 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the W. S. Clancy Memo­rial Fu­neral Home, 244 North Main Street, Bran­ford. Grave­side ser­vice to fol­low at All Saints Ceme­tery, North Haven.
