Mary (Didato) Howie, of Killingwor­th, CT, beloved wife of the late Jack Howie, died on June 2nd, 2018 in Oceanside, CA. She was born in Middletown, CT on February 14th, 1930, daughter of the late Thomas and Lena (LaBella) Didato. Mary is survived by a beloved son, Russell, Daughter-in-Law Margret, and two cherished grandchild­ren, Mikayla and Jack of Carlsbad, CA, a brother Joseph Didato and his wife Joan of Mashpee, MA and several nephews. Mary was always surrounded by loving and caring life-long friends, neighbors and family, which was a source of great joy in her life. Mary was a consummate care giver, having worked as a Registered Nurse in the Recovery Room at the Middlesex Hospital for many decades. It was Mary’s kind and smiling face that patients would wake to see after surgery. Mary was a wonderful person to know and will be remembered for her gentle spirit, generous heart and kind, thoughtful ways. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Lawrence Church, Seven Hemlock Drive, Killingwor­th, CT on Friday, June 15th at 11:00 a.m. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow for family, friends and neighbors at the Saint Lawrence Social Hall. Burial will be private.
