‘Maritime with a Twist’: Adults-only event at aquarium

Celebrate the summer solstice with sips and samples, as well as sharks and seals, during the “Maritime with a Twist” adults-only evening event on Thursday, June 21, at the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk.

Open to anyone age 21 and over, the event features tastes from nearby restaurants in the South Norwalk neighborhood, along with refreshments by artisanal distillers and distributors. Sample them all while enjoying the entire aquarium for one price, according to a news release.

Participating restaurants and retailers include: Bandido Mexican Restaurant, The Blind Rhino, Burger Bar & Bistro, The Cask Republic, Evarito’s Mexican Bar & Kitchen, Harlan Publick, Killer B Burger, Knot Norm’s, La Dolce Italian Ice & Café, Local Kitchen & Beer Bar,

Our House SoNo, and Public

Wine Bar, as well as Maikana Foods.

Pouring the tastings will be Naked Turtle White Rum and Total Wine & More, both of Norwalk; Asylum Distillery, of Bridgeport; Eder Brothers, of West Haven; and Glenlivet Scotch.

The aquarium said this celebration of summer is unique, thanks to the setting among seals, sharks, sea turtles, jellies and more. Weather permitting, the event will spill out onto the aquarium’s riverfront courtyard.

The Westport-based cover band Sinergy will provide the music.
