SAT practice test, business mentoring

NORTH HAVEN — North Haven Memorial Library, 17 Elm St., is offering the following free programs:

SAT Practice Test, Princeton Review: A full-length practice SAT test, without essay, will be held 10:30 a.m.-1:45 p.m. Sept. 22. A report on the results will be sent by email. Students should bring a calculator, sharpened pencils, water and a snack. To attend, RSVP by Sept. 14 to 203239-5803.

A three-week series on starting a business from your own idea and avoiding some of the main pitfalls will be presented by SCORE Certified Business Mentor James Krupp at 6:30 p.m.

Session 1: Learn about business support resources, how to prepare a business plan and market a small business. Session 2: Startup mechanics: basic accounting, legal considerat­ions and insurance. Session 3: Learn how to finance a small business and use the web.

Symphony orchestra seeks musicians

HAMDEN — Hamden Symphony Orchestra seeks musicians interested in joining the group for the 2018-19 concert season.
