Saddle up this summer at High Hopes’ camp

-

What could be better than spending an extraordinary week learning to ride and look after your horse at High Hopes’ beautiful farm in the heart of Old Lyme?

Children ages 3 to 6, or 7 to 12 learn new skills, have fun, make friends, care for others, and enjoy an experience like no other. Sessions with our very special herd of 25 horses and ponies are designed to meet the individual needs of our campers, both able-bodied and those with physical, cognitive and/or emotional disabilities. Activities include daily riding lessons, gymnastics on horseback, carriage driving, daily care, and arts and crafts. Why spend the summer at High Hopes?

Our farm, set in the heart of Old Lyme is equipped with a vast indoor ring, an outdoor arena, many miles of activity trails and air-conditioned facility. The teaching staff is made up of PATH International Riding and Carriage Driving Instructors, and the specially trained horses are perfect for both beginners and more advanced campers. Parents can be sure that their child will have a fun, safe, inclusive, and rewarding week regardless of their age or ability.

Camp runs between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Each week is designed for different age groups, and because of our high volunteer to camper ratio, we can work with families to accommodate siblings of varying ages.

Due to the generosity of our donors including foundations such as the Westbrook Trust, the East Lyme Lions Club and the Community Foundations of Middlesex County and Eastern Connecticut, High Hopes is able to offer some financial aid to families who, without that help, would be unable to provide their child with a High Hopes Summer Camp experience.

Registration deadline is May 20, and is limited to 16 participants/week. No financial aid applications will be considered after May 13.
