Bushy Hill Nature Center offers experiential learning of our environment

-

The Nature Center is home to a beautiful collection of Native American artifacts and replicas, mounted animals, live reptiles and more!

“Bushy Hill is the only place where my child feels like himself and at home.” These are the words we hear from parents throughout the year. The experiences that Bushy Hill Nature Center in Ivoryton provides for children in preschool, elementary, and high school, as well as our adult patrons, is unique for so many reasons.

Starting at the top, the directors are former campers and staff members themselves. Director Jen Gannon Malaguti has more than 24 years of experience with the organization. Associate Director Brendan Hylan has been with Bushy Hill for 21 years. Both directors have teaching degrees and experience in the classroom setting. They use this background to select and train staff to become strong, knowledgeable leaders.

Bushy Hill, a department of the Incarnation Center, has been a local resource for more than 35 years. Its mission is to inspire people of all ages to connect to the environment through hands-on, experiential learning while building a stronger community. Throughout the year, the center provides educational outreach programs and workshops to local schools and community organizations.

The Nature Center is home to a beautiful collection of Native American artifacts and replicas, mounted animals, live reptiles and more! The reptiles, along with the farm, are the cornerstone of the popular birthday party packages. We also utilize our wigwam, tipi, cedar swamp, and our low and high ropes courses for birthday parties, corporate outings, school field trips and field day activities.

It’s said that Bushy Hill is a like a big family. Once you participate in one of our many programs, you’re part of the family! So come on by, hike our trails, visit the nature center and farm, enjoy our camps, workshops, and other programs, and let us say, “Welcome to the family!”
