a stranger with no police uniform. No crime had been committed by either victim that could be substantiated as the cause of their action. In other words, there was no “probable cause.”

All the culprits physically challenged their victims resulting in a losing battle and resorted to the unfair advantage of a firearm. Justice was not rendered in both cases from the very onset in that the culprits had connections. “But for” the action of Willie Bryan in videoing the blatant murder, justice still would have been delayed and thus denied. As for Bryan knowing the culprits or not, the behavior he displayed was the game changer that at least started the wheels of justice turning. That should count for something, in fact a lot.

This cruel narrative keeps playing out causing outcry not just from blacks — many whites have voiced their opinion of this evil. None of us can honestly say this repetitive narrative is surprising, albeit, still sad.

Hanging at home leaves time to think. Have we all forgotten, a few years back, Smithfield meat products made headlines? They send either the animals or meat to

China to be processed. China has less strict health rules or guidelines to follow. If the meat is processed in the USA, it is more costly for the company to meet our health standards. So now, Smithfield in South Dakota has approximately 900 sick employees with the COVID-19 virus. Other meat companies also have ill workers. Do they also work with China? Does that contaminate their products? Buy American!

Also, do not buy “Made in China” items, especially for children. I worked for a chemical company in Stratford, with headquarters in Cleveland for 30 years. They made rubber compounds for major tire companies and the auto parts industry. Our workers wore protective gear and air helmets as they were working with BPA, cadmium and lead. All chemicals used in China. All these chemicals made headlines. The Stratford plant was closed, completely cleaned and everything sent back to Cleveland and they now work with China. Greed wins again. Buy American!

When I walk into local discount stores, I smell those chemicals. Look at the labels: Made in China. I’m outta there. As the song goes: “When will we ever learn?”
