State among worst for cuts to work schedules

-

Connecticut trails only Rhode Island and Nevada among states where employers have cut the volume of work shifts, according to an ongoing study by Kronos of more than 30,000 businesses nationally which use its systems to log working hours. Just over half of Connecticut companies analyzed by Kronos were on reduced shifts two months after Gov. Ned Lamont declared a public health emergency in mid March. Nationally, employee shifts are up 17 percent since mid-April, which Kronos has pegged as “the bottom” of workplace activity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
