‘Pantochino Curbside’: Bringing shows to your doorstep
Pantochino Productions Inc, a professional nonprofit theater company based in Milford, has launched “Pantochino Curbside,” a new program to bring original musical theater to the audiences’ doorsteps.
Performed outdoors on lawns or driveways, Pantochino Curbside offer three live, costumed actors performing an original minimusical.
“Since audiences can’t go to the theater, we’re bringing theatre to the audiences,” co-producer Bert Bernardi said in a news release. “We’re hoping to bring live entertainment, smiles and laughter to children and their families while keeping a safe social distance right there on their property.”
Beginning Monday, June 1, the company will offer a new mini-musical, “Little Lilly Lollipop or The Sticky Situation,” written by Bernardi with music by Justin Rugg. The 15-minute performance is steeped in the traditions of melodrama and high camp, complete with the hero, the villain and the damsel in distress.
“The show is completely Pantochino’s brand of humor and is perfect for the entire family to enjoy,” Bernardi said.
The performance costs $125 paid in advance via PayPal or Venmo. Your show must be paid in full 48 hours prior to the time of performance. The cast will even “shout out” for birthdays or to your special someone in the audience.
Performances take place weather permitting. Performance
times are subject to availability, mutually agreed upon between the host and Pantochino.
There is no hand-shaking or contact between you, your family and the cast. Audiences will maintain a 10-foot distance from the cast.
At present, Pantochino Curbside will travel within Milford, West Haven, Orange, Stratford and Trumbull. Further destinations, if available, will require an additional fee. Pantochino
Curbside will perform on your owned or rented property only. The troupe cannot perform in apartment building parking lots, public spaces or land not owned by host. Pets are not welcome at the performance. Your performance may be photographed, however recording the show is not permitted.
Pantochino Curbside is the third offering to come from the company since the onset of social distancing. The company’s Pantochino Podcasts are currently available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, and “Let’s Learn Stuff” with Victoria Sautee continues its Facebook Live series every Tuesday and Thursday at 2 p.m.
About to begin its 10th season, the company is based in the Connecticut Post Mall and performs its original musical theatre at the Milford Arts Council. More information on Pantochino Curbside can be found at www.pantochino.com
