Carmelina ‘Millie’ Siena Caruso, 86, of Branford, died March 5, 2021 in Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the wife of 63 years to Daniel Caruso. Millie was born in New Haven April 29, 1934, a daughter of the late Carmen and Jennie Candido Siena, grew up on Franklin Street in Wooster Square and was a Sacred Heart Academy Greene Street Girl. She was a second grade teacher at Mary R. Tisko School in Branford for more than 20 years. Loving mother of Donna (Charles) Mazzucco, Lisa (Mark Smolenski) Caruso and Cynthia (John Dieli) Caruso. Sister of Anita Ward, John and Ronald Siena. Grandmothe­r of Matthew and Carlye Mazzucco, Nicholas Pataky, Zachary and Gabrielle Dieli. Family was everything to Millie, especially her grandchild­ren. When they were younger, she got them off the bus at her house each day, gave them a snack and helped with homework. Millie attended every event in their lives including baseball, soccer and football games, recitals, and concerts. She always took them out for special lunches. Millie loved preparing Sunday dinners for her entire family and making traditiona­l Italian holiday food that was enjoyed immensely. Always outgoing and friendly, she chatted with anyone she made contact with and looked forward to having weekly breakfast at the diner with her friends. Millie enjoyed traveling with her family, especially trips to Disney World and Italy. She has left her family with so many wonderful memories to cherish.

Visiting hours will be Wednesday morning from 8:159:45am in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. 11 Wooster Pl., New Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am in St. John Bosco Parish at St. Mary Church 731 Main St. in Branford.
