* David O’Sullivan, the longtime Executive Director of the Community Soup Kitchen retired Dec. 31 and was replaced by Interim Executive Director, Joshua Lamarr Watkins, at left. O’Sullivan started at CSK as a volunteer in 1980 and served as the Executive Director for the last 33 years. He was also a part of the former Mobile Night Soup Kitchen which was in a different church every night of the week and eventually became the Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen. He guided CSK from serving less the 100 meals a day to what is now New Haven’s busiest and longest tenured congregate eating site. In retirement, he says will have more time for his passion projects like gardening and can relax by catching up on lots of books and movies.
