No. 2 seed Hand knocks off Hillhouse
Brooke Salutari had 19 points and Sophia Coppola added 16 to lead the secondseeded Hand girls basketball team to a 72-48 win over No. 10 seed Hillhouse in an SCC Division I quarterfinal game in Madison on Friday.
Hadley Houghton added 15 points for the Tigers.
Nielle Reeves led the Academics with 25 points.
No. 5 Cheshire 31, No. 4 Lyman Hall 29 (OT): Grace Lurz and Tess Givens scored 10 points each to lead the Rams to a win in an SCC Division II quarterfinal game in Wallingford.
The Rams outscored the Trojans 4-2 in overtime. Natalie Panagrosso had 12 points and nine rebounds and Brianna Mik added 12 points, 10 rebounds and four steals for the Trojans.
No. 3 North Haven 57, No. 6 Foran 26: Olivia Stefanik scored 14 points and Emma Liedke added 12 to lead North Haven to an SCC Division Division quarterfinal win in North Haven.
Lauren Heenan led the
Lions with 13 points.
No. 1 Sacred Heart Academy 66, No. 9 Lauralton Hall 40: Rosa Rizzitelli had 16 points and Meghan Kirck added 12 to lead the SHArks to an SCC Division II quarterfinal win in Hamden.
Catherine Bosse led the Crusaders with 14 points.
No. 2 West Haven 47, No. 10 Guilford 25: Kassidy Carrano had 12 points and Amani Abuhatab added 10 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Blue Devils to a win in an SCC DIvision II quarterfinal game in West Haven.
Miabella Diaz led Guilford with 13 points.
BOYS BASKETBALL
O’Brien Tech 59, Wolcott Tech 43:
Stu Vargas had 21 points and Elijah Moore added 11 to lead the Condors to a win in the second round of the CTC tournament.
O'Brien Tech will host the winner of the Platt Tech/Wilcox Tech game in the Nutmeg Division finals on Tuesday. Jacob Fogarty led Wolcott Tech with 11 points.
