Julia DiNello Mastrangelo, 91, of Orange, beloved wife of 62 years to the late Nicholas J. Mastrangelo Sr., entered into eternal rest on May 17, 2021, surrounded by her family at her home. Born in New Haven on April 15, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Margaret Palmieri DiNello. Prior to her retirement in 1989, Julia worked for Southern New England Telephone as a balancing representative for twenty years. She was a lifetime member of the Pioneers, an active member for many years of The Holy Infant Guild, and an avid bowler. In more recent years, Julia attended the Clelian Center, which she truly loved. She is survived by her devoted children who took great pride in caring for their adored mom over the past nine years; Elissa Mastrangelo - Marcucci and her husband Frank of East Haven, Gina Simko and her husband David of Hamden, Gerald “Jerry” Mastrangelo and Jennifer Verraneault of Branford, and Nicholas J. Mastrangelo Jr. and his wife Patricia of Orange. Julia leaves her cherished grandchildren, Taylor and Morgan Simko, Rachael and Nicholas Mastrangelo, and Carly, Anthony, and Christopher Mastrangelo, step grandchildren Kirsten and Alec Marcucci, and was Nonna to John and Julianna. Julia loved quality time with her grandchildren, always excited to feed them the moment they entered her house and doted on them to hear about their lives. The family sincerely thanks Irene Dziekan, our mom’s loving, generous, and devoted caregiver for the past several years; we truly could not have done this journey without her. Sister of Mary Baiocchi of North Haven, Rosemarie Celentano of Orange, and Gina Oliano of Long Beach Island, NJ, Angelo DiNello of West Haven, and the late Emma Lembo, Margaret Brunetti, Blanche Porto, and Carl, Pasquale, Joseph, and Nicholas DiNello.
