Sorenstam to host girls clinic at Brooklawn CC

- By Joe Morelli

The ANNIKA Foundation — Annika Sorenstam’s charitable foundation — and the USGA are co-hosting a “Share My Passion” golf clinic at Brooklawn Country Club in Fairfield on July 27. Sorenstam will be participating in the third U.S. Senior Women’s Open championship that week.

Girls between the ages of 6-16 who reside in the New York City metropolitan area can write a letter to Sorenstam expressing their love for the sport and why other girls should take up the game. The top 40 letter writers will be invited to attend the clinic along with either their parent or guardian.

Sorenstam and other instructors will discuss the fundamentals of driving and putting and the importance of fitness. Sorenstam will then conduct her clinic and discuss a variety of topics with the participants.

Visit annikafoundation.org or usga.org for more information and to fill out an entry form. The deadline to submit a form is Friday.
