Police: Man wanted in violent Bridgeport crime spree
BRIDGEPORT — Police are asking for the public’s help to identify an individual they say has been involved in multiple crimes on the city’s west side.
The individual is considered armed and dangerous, according to Detective Jeffrey A. Holtz, of the Robbery/Burglary
Unit.
Among the crimes police said he committed was a carjacking Aug. 11 on Carleton Avenue that involved the victim being assaulted.
On Tuesday, he was involved in a pursuit with the Patrol Division while driving a stolen 2020 Honda HR-V, with New York plates, Holtz said. During the pursuit, Holtz said, the man “intentionally struck a patrol car occupied by an officer.”
The individual, along with two others, are part of a group stealing and transporting vehicles from Bridgeport and Westchester County in New York, Holtz said. The man also recently engaged New
York State Police in a pursuit on Interstate 87, he said.
