Violet Marie Little

-

Our precious angel Violet Marie Little transitioned peacefully and surrounded by love on August 22, 2021 at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Violet was born in Brooklyn, New York, residing in New Haven, CT, on May 18, 2018 to Jenaya Johnson and Vaughn P. Little, Sr. They all relocated to North Carolina this past April. Violet’s big beautiful smile was infectious and she bought so much joy to her parents and her family. She was an amazing, smart little girl who loved to be in the company of her large family; mainly with her many cousins. Violet loved to do whatever she wanted to and most times we’d let her. She loved animals and enjoyed excursions to the zoo. She was so attentive and inquisitive, wise beyond her years. Violet’s love of outdoors was evident; particularly when the weather permitted her the opportunity to get wet or go swimming. Violet also enjoyed watching her favorite shows such as Pepa Pig, Trolls, Bluey, and Princess Tiana to name a few. We were truly blessed to have her in our lives for the past few years and she will forever be in our hearts.

In addition to her parents, Violet is survived by her big brother Vaughn P. Little,

Jr., maternal grandparents Jeanine Cook, Paul and Melody Johnson, paternal grandparents Antoine Snipes, Nitckha D. LittleBrown and Aaron G. Brown, Sr., maternal great-grandparents Susan Cook and Ralph Kelley, paternal greatgrandparents Theresa J. Little and Leevan Edwards, aunts Tiaire Johnson and Ivory D. Foskey, and uncles Tyshawn Ortiz and Ivan D. Foskey, Jr. Violet’s immediate family includes 10 greataunts, 18 great-uncles, and 75 cousins. She also leaves a host of extended family.

The family would like to thank everyone who provided care for Violet at Smilow Cancer Hospital/ Yale New Haven Health, Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital. A celebration of Violet’s life will take place Saturday, August 28th in Queens, NY at Bergen Funeral Home 102-17 101st Avenue, Ozone Park, New York 11416 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
