Shops at Yale sets downtown events
NEW HAVEN — The Shops at Yale is holding several events and promotions for the historic downtown shopping district over the coming weeks.
— Fitstyle Walking Tours of the Yale and downtown New Haven area will be held on the 1st and 3rd weekends of the month through November, according to a release, guided by Yale alum Shana Schneider, founder of Fitstyle by Shana. The walks, which will be approximately 60 minutes, will cover about two miles, the release said. The route will include “iconic buildings of Yale’s campus, art installations, historical sites, as well as shopping and dining areas,” the release said.
Free four-hour parking is provided, according to the release, and registration fee is $5, which will be donated to the Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen. Visit www.facebook.com/ events/519773372581203.
— “Third Thursday Appreciation Nights,” held the third Thursday of the month through November, “include a special night of shopping and dining, exclusive discounts, free gifts with purchase, free parking with purchase” and more, the release said. Each of the nights is for select groups, including Teachers & Professors Appreciation Night (Sept. 16), First Responders & Medical Professionals Appreciation Night (Oct. 21) and New Haven Residents Appreciation Night (Nov. 18).
