NEW HAVEN — A fourth-grade student is safe after he was left at the wrong bus stop Thursday, a spokesman for the school district said.

The student “was dropped off at the wrong address this afternoon,” spokesman Justin Harmon said in an email. The student was dropped there by a bus driver, according to Harmon.

A neighbor helped the child, according to Harmon.

“The school principal has been in touch with the family and is on his way to the spot where the student is located,” Harmon said in the email.

He did not name the school the child attends.

Harmon said a report is being made the state Department of Children and Families.

“We are very glad that the student is safe, thanks to a neighbor who assisted the student,” Harmon said.
