Cheshire blanks Guilford

CHESHIRE — Cheshire coach Kylee McIntosh couldn’t stop smiling after the game despite the rain pelting the small tent near the Cheshire girls’ soccer bench.

No wonder after the Rams’ performance Thursday on the opening night of the 2021 season as they blanked Guilford, 2-0.

“We’ve been training really hard,” McIntosh said. “We have a hard schedule and they definitely rose to the occasion. They set the bar tonight and I’m excited for the season.”

Both Cheshire goals were somewhat quirky as the Rams took advantage of a couple good breaks.
