Tsakonas hat trick leads West Haven

Julia Tsakonas scored her third goal of the game at 52:22 for a 3-1 lead and West Haven held on for a 3-2 SCC girls soccer win in the season-opening game for both teams at West Haven on Thursday.

Kassidy Karrano had five saves for the Blue Devils.

Ava Civitillo and Ari Mullin scored for the Green Dragons. Olivia Greene had 11 saves for Hamden.

Morgan 3, Old Lyme 0: Bailey Goss needed to make only two saves and the Huskies dominated the shots on goal at 16-6 for their Shoreline Conference win at Old Lyme. Matt Lopez, Sebastian Kadlof and Steve Kinser scored for the Huskies. Jonah Lathrop had four saves for Old Lyme.
