Shook scores 3 TDs, leads Sheehan past East Haven

Jacob Shook ran for 124 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead the Sheehan football team to a 49-6 SCC win over East Haven in a season-opening game for both teams on Friday.

Shook scored on touchdown runs of 3,1 and 14 to lead the Titans offense.

Paul Gorry added a pair of touchdown passes for Sheehan.

All of Sheehan’s points were scored in the first two quarters.

Shea Carasone scored on a 12-yard run for the Easties in the fourth quarter.

Naugatuck 22, Oxford 0: Cayden Martin rushed for 92 yards on 14 carries including a 6-yard touchdown run to lead the Greyhounds to their NVL win at Oxford.

Valley Regional/Old Lyme 28, North Branford 7: James Marsden ran for two touchdowns and caught another for Valley Regional/Old Lyme in a Pequot Confrence win at North Branford.

DiAngelo Jean-Pierre also caught a touchdown pass from James Beckman for Valley Regional.

Ryan Newberry scored in the 61st minute on an assist by Tyler Kobus to lead the Blue Devils to their

Shoreline Conference win in Durham. Logan Bender had three saves for Coginchaug. Ryan Engels had nine saves for the Knights.

GIRLS SOCCER

North Haven 3, Lyman Hall 2: Ada Forbes scored twice and Anna Lise had six saves to lead North Haven to its SCC win. Calli Casulla and Shianna Reeves scored for the Trojans.

FIELD HOCKEY

Old Saybrook 4, Waterford 0: Alexa Coty had two goals and McKenna Cooke had a goal and an assist to lead the Rams to a season-opening win. Ilyana Rivera had five saves for Waterford.
