Robert H. “Bob” Cooper, 94, of East Haven passed away June 27, 2021 at Branford Hills Health Center from complicati­ons of Covid. Loving husband of Judith Chasney Bauer Cooper, beloved father of Susan J. Cooper (New Haven), Jimmy R. Cooper (Naugatuck), and Kimberly (Scott) Casella (Southingto­n). Caring stepfather to Christophe­r (Teresa) Bauer (Middletown) and Jeffrey (Kelli) Bauer (Moodus). He leaves his cherished grandsons, Josh Cooper, Matthew Casella, Nicholas, Steven, and Taylor Bauer. He is survived by a dear sister, Betty Moore, and friends and family. He was born in East Haven on June 19, 1927 a son of the late Robert Cooper and Blanche Hocking Cooper. He was predecease­d by his sisters, Frances Calahan, Ruth Potter Emley; his brothers, Wesley Cooper, Earl Hocking, his nephew, Teddy Potter, and his long ago best friend, Sherwood Klein. He served with the Occupation Troops in Korea. He worked as an auto body man, a mechanic and a machinist. He was a smart man who always wanted to learn new things. He loved working on cars from an early age and that was one of his true passions. He enjoyed time spent with family and friends and enjoyed dancing. He was an avid NASCAR fan and rooted for the Yankees.

Family and friends are invited to a parlor service at the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven THURSDAY September 16, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. Interment will be private.
