East Haven to induct seven into its HOF
The East Haven High School Alumni Association will induct seven individuals into its Hall of Fame on Nov. 2 at 12:30 p.m. at Seasons on Foxon Road.
Slated for induction are Frank Barron (1968, posthumously), a football lineman and former lacrosse coach at Hand and Branford; Patrick Paulson (2007), the school’s second all-time leading scorer in boys basketball; Lou Lefevre (1984), a standout point guard with over 500 coaching victories in Connecticut, Georgia, and Indiana; Gabrielle Pane (2008), an all-league tennis player;
Laurie Finnegan Roman (1977), AllHousatonic selection in softball.
Former state representatives John Giordano (1968) and Diane Romans (1984) will receive the Distinguished Graduate Award.
Tickets are $50 and may be obtained by sending a check payable to the EHHS Alumni Association, 103 Leigh Drive, East Haven 06512. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
AMITY CEREMONY POSTPONED
The Amity Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame has postponed its 22nd Annual Hall of Fame Dinner at Grassy Hill Country Club in Orange to April 28, 2022.
The six new inductees will be: Allison Barwise (2009), a former soccer, indoor and outdoor track and field who was the New Haven Register Female Athlete of the Year in 2009; Joseph Ciancola (2010), exhockey and baseball standout; Sal Coppola (1987), who has won seven SCC and six Class LL state championships and won his 500th game this past season for the Spartans; Janice Ehorn (2008), ex-volleyball standout; Erin (McLaughlin) Guise (2005), a former swimming standout; and Gilbert Jennings (1991), who starred in football, wrestling and outdoor track and field.
