What you need to know: Life isn’t getting any easier for UConn. If anything, it’s getting tougher. After falling 49-0 to Purdue, the Huskies have now been outscored 94-0 by FBS opponents. Hoping to spark their dismal offense, the Huskies brought in Noel Mazzone, 64, a well-traveled assistant, to serve as an analyst. While sophomore Steven Krajewski started against Purdue, it’s not a given that he’ll be back under center. The Huskies are 33-point underdogs to the Black Knights, who edged Western Kentucky 38-35 to stay unbeaten.

What you need to know: Sacred Heart will dip out of Northeast Conference play again, looking to rebound from a 17-6 loss to Bryant. Junior Malik Grant ran for 85 yards on 21 carries in absence of All-American running back Julius Chestnut. Morgan State has been outscored 100-20 through two games.

What you need to know: Yale — picked second in the Ivy League preseason poll — gets a crack at Holy Cross to open the season. The Crusaders upset UConn 38-28 in Randy Edsall’s final game in Storrs on Sept. 4. But Holy Cross followed that win with a 35-21 loss to Merrimack. Yale is playing for the first time since 2019 after the Ivy League canceled last season because of COVID-19. Tony Reno’s team was picked second in the Ivy League behind Princeton.
