Cops: Man charged after allegedly forcing way into North Haven home
NORTH HAVEN — A town man was arrested Thursday after allegedly forcing his way into an acquaintance’s home and assaulting people inside, according to police.
Anthony Maggiore, 18, is charged with two counts of third-degree assault — elderly, blind or disabled, second-degree reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a minor, seconddegree burglary, disorderly conduct, interfering with an emergency call and third-degree criminal mischief, police said on Facebook.
Officers were called to a Randall Drive residence around 11 a.m. Thursday, officials said.
“Upon arrival it was learned that ... (Maggiore) had arrived at the home and forced his way inside after being turned away by a female juvenile and her grandmother. A nearby male family member quickly responded to the home to intervene, and was assaulted while doing so. While inside the home Anthony assaulted individuals, caused physical injury, as well as damage to personal property,” police said. “The investigation revealed Anthony is an acquaintance of a female in the home, and the incident is believed to be domestic / family violence related.”
Maggiore was released on a $25,000 bond, police said.
