Amity tops Branford, stays unbeaten

Iza Kurpios and Nicole Grosso scored in the opening half for the Amity girl soccer team, which edged host Branford 2-1 Friday afternoon in an SCC game.

Ava Frrie scored in the second half for Branford.

Mercy 1, West Haven 0: Kate Donlan scored off an assist from Haley Morales for Mercy in an SCC win at Middletown. Kassidy Carrano made eight saves for West Haven.

Lyman Hall 4, Wilbur Cross 1: Roisin Turbett and Shianna Reeves both had a goal and an assist for Lyman Hall in its SCC win at Wallingford. Charlotte Butterbaugh scored for Cross.

Cromwell 1, Morgan 1: Leila LeBlanc scored the equalizer for Cromwell to earn the Shoreline Conference tie at home. Katie Martin scored for Morgan. FIELD HOCKEY

Guilford 3, Cheshire 1: Maddie Epke, Ella Clark and Payton Root all scored for Guilford in an SCC win at Cheshire. Gigi Ronaldo scored for Cheshire.

Hand 6, Mercy 0: Natalia Nolan had two goals and an assist for Hand in an SCC win at Madison. Reilly Dolan and Jordan Kells both added a goal and an assist for Hand (2-0). Mercy dropped to 3-1.

O’Brien Tech 1, Platt Tech 1:

Anthony Luna’s goal in the 67th minute helped Platt Tech (2-0-1) salvage the CTC tie at Ansonia. Adam Dobrovich scored on a penalty kick for the Condors (1-2-1).
