Gaylord sets preview party for featured spot in PBS TV series

“The Hospital of the Future” is an episode of the Public Broadcasting Service series “Travels & Traditions with Burt Wolf,” and will feature Gaylord’s rehabilitation-focused health care system, the release said.

WALLINGFORD — Gaylord Specialty Healthcare will be featured in an upcoming television show, and is holding an exclusive preview party for the event, officials said in a release.

“The Hospital of the Future” is an episode of the Public Broadcasting Service series “Travels & Traditions with Burt Wolf,” and will feature Gaylord’s rehabilitation-focused health care system, the release said.

The episode will celebrate “Gaylord’s 120-year history and unique, patient-centered care and clinical innovation through the firsthand perspective of its patients and staff,” according to the release.

Gaylord will hold its exclusive preview party from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 14, with proceeds from the screening to benefit the Gaylord Fund.

“This feature is an opportunity for the world to see the details that differentiate Gaylord,” Gaylord President and CEO Sonja LaBarbera said in the release. “To our patients, Gaylord means hope and possibility. Our commitment to holistic care defines our patient experience and each member of our team brings a unique passion and expertise for recovery. This special allows viewers to witness our process firsthand.”

The show will be broadcast this fall on PBS, the release said, and will be translated for international audiences.

The preview party will feature live music, hors d’oeuvres, open bar and networking opportunities, the release said.
