Nellie Harriott

Nellie L. Harriott was born March 30, 1929 in Westville, South Carolina to the late Cornelius and Rhoda Montgomery Harris. She attended school in Kershaw County. She loved cooking, gardening and God. She had long-standing ties to Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, and New Freedom Missionary Baptist Church.

Left to mourn are her children, Gladys (Charles) Telford, Nellie Harriott, Claretha Harriott, Robert (Annette) Harriott, Willie (Sharon)Harriott, Gwendolyn McDaniels, Laura (Vincent) Brantle, Joyce (Thomas) Anderson and Levi (Tina) Harriott and two sisters-in-law, Jessie Spenser and Hilpha Harriott. She was blessed with 26 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband and daughters Ruby Brown and Carolyn Harris and two grandchildren; Terence Brown and Timothy Johnson.

A celebration of life will be held Fri., September 24, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Temple Church, 285 Dixwell Ave., New Haven, CT 06511. Calling hour 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment in Hamden Plains Cemetery. Services entrusted to McClam Funeral Home, 95 Dixwell Ave., New Haven, CT 06511.
