STEPPING UP TO RAISE AWARENESS
Chris Brannigan, a major in the British Army, is walking 1,200 miles from Maine to North Carolina barefoot to raise funds and awareness for Cornelia de Lange syndrome, a rare disease affecting his daughter, Hasti, 9, that is currently under research at Jackson Laboratory. At left he is seen walking down Whitney Avenue in New Haven as he approaches a fire station where he will spend the night after walking 20 miles from Meriden on Monday, having completed about 400 miles of his trek.
