Police seek help in identifying burglar

STAMFORD — Investigators are searching for a person who is seen on film breaking into a variety store on the city’s East Side and stole cash, according to police.

Sgt. Sean Scanlan said the burglary occurred at a market in the 80 block of East Main in the early morning hours of Sept. 24.

The person, who was captured on video, used a rock to smash the store’s front window before entering and making off with cash from the register, Scanlan said. Footage from the store shows the person has a distinctive tattoo on the left bicep.
