Police: New Haven home hit by bullets

NEW HAVEN — A house was hit by bullets in a shooting Monday afternoon, according to police.

Officer Scott Shumway said on Tuesday that officers responded to Whalley Avenue between Amity Road and Pond Lily Avenue around 2 p.m. Monday for a report of gunshots.

Officers found that the bullets were fired on South Genesee Street and hit a home on Valley Street, Shumway said.

No one was injured. Shumway said the home was “not the intended target,” but did not specify what or who might have been.

The investigat­ion is ongoing.
