Sheehan girls soccer shuts out Cheshire

Dylan Smith scored early in the second half for the Sheehan girls soccer team, which defeated Cheshire 1-0 in an SCC game at Wallingford.

Amu Casorla assisted on the goal for the Titans (52-1). Trinity LaValley made five saves for Sheehan and Sophie Bates made five for Cheshire (5-2).

Guilford 3, Mercy 0: Gabby Sansone scored in the first half for Guilford in a SCC home win.

Mercy’s defense allowed the other two goals. Lexi Handleman made seven saves for Guilford.

FIELD HOCKEY

Sheehan 1, Shelton 0: Olivia Fritz scored in the third quarter and Mia Levesh assisted on the goal for Sheehan in an SCC game at Shelton.

Cheshire 4, Amity 0: Avery DePodesta scored twice and Lauren Houle added two assists for Cheshire in an SCC home win.

BOYS SOCCER

Hopkins 2, St. Luke’s 1: Moustapha Gassama and Munib Kassem both had a goal and an assist for Hopkins in a Fairchester League game at New Canaan. Fritz Laibe scored for St. Luke’s.

East Haven 1, North Haven 1: Cristopher Torres scored for East Haven in the second half to salvage an SCC tie at home. Derek Mortali scored for North Haven.
