Constance C. (Culmo) Kolakowski, age 88, entered into eternal rest on September 27, 2021, at Griffin Hospital in Derby with her loving family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Robert J. “Pudgie” Kolakowski. Connie was born at home in Ansonia on July 3, 1933, daughter of the late Angelo and Lillian Mezzatesta Culmo. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, she worked alongside her sister Millie at Millie’s Luncheonet­te on Main Street for many years. Connie loved to travel and spend time with her family. She enjoyed summers at the beach in Milford and winters in Florida with her late sister Millie and numerous cousins. Connie was a former member of the Ansonia Democratic Town Committee, served as a monitor for the election polls in Ansonia, and was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. She was outgoing with a kind, infectious personalit­y who had the ability to make everyone feel welcome and never met a stranger. Connie leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted son, Robert J. “Bobo” Kolakowski of Ansonia, loving daughters, Karen Salisbury (Kent) of Bay Village, Ohio and Tara Kolakowski of Ansonia, brothers, Angelo “Jr” Culmo of Albany, NY and Eric Culmo (Freda) of Rotonda, FL, grandchild­ren, Fred G. Kolakowski Jr., Amy Landrau (Carlos), Harrison Salisbury and Emma Salisbury, great-grandchild­ren, Abigail, Lillian, Isabelle and Charlie Landrau, sister-inlaw, Claire Culmo of Texas, and a grand puppy, Niko along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predecease­d by a son, Fred G. Kolakowski, Sr., brothers, Fred “Pop” Culmo, Sam Culmo, and James Culmo (Irene), sisters, Millie Culmo and Lillian “Patty” Kwalek (Gene), sister-in-law, Kay Culmo and in-laws, Jack and Mimi Kolakowski. Dr. Seema D’souza, along with the nurses and staff at Griffin Hospital for their loving care. They would also like to send a heartfelt thank you to Connie’s care givers at home. Visitation for family and friends will take place on Sunday, October 3, 2021, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. The family respectful­ly requests that ALL visitors attending be vaccinated and wear face masks. On Monday, October 4, 2021, her funeral will begin at 9:15 am from the funeral home followed by as a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church, Father Salemi Drive in Ansonia.
